ADULT TECH SUPPORT:

WHY YOU FEEL STUCK (AND WHY IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK)

You're not stuck because something's wrong with you.

STUCK is a focused, self-paced workshop for when you know something needs to change, but you can’t name what - and every possible next move feels like it could be the wrong one.

Eight short videos. Seven guided exercises. 45–60 minutes.

I’ve spent most of my life believing I was supposed to be doing something other than whatever I was doing.

I pictured myself as a bird flying over a lake. Everyone else was down in the water living their lives, while I kept flapping overhead like a loon with a deadline, convinced I had to reach the other side. Fast.

I didn’t know what was over there. I didn’t know why I had to reach it. It never occurred to me that landing was an option.

Then I got laid off in January 2024 and corporate America moved on without leaving a forwarding address.

So, I started making YouTube videos. It was supposed to be temporary. A side gig. Something I did while I figured out what I was really going to do with my life.

Then YouTube became what I loved and I was still stuck.

I had finally found somewhere I wanted to land and I was still flying over it because an old rule told me it couldn’t be the right place unless it paid enough to prove it.

That’s when I started to understand that I wasn’t stuck because I didn’t know what I wanted.  I was stuck because an old rule was deciding what was allowed to count.

Your rule may have nothing to do with money.  It may tell you that wanting more is selfish. That rest has to be earned. That you can’t move until you know how everything ends. That you have a perfectly good life and should stop complaining.

The subject changes, but the trap is the same: instead of questioning the rule, you question yourself.

That’s what we work through in "Why You Feel Stuck (And Why It's Not What You Think)".

I was stuck because an old rule was deciding
what was allowed to count.

Stuck doesn't always look like doing nothing.

Sometimes it looks like researching every option and choosing none of them.

Sometimes it looks like staying in a job, relationship, role, or version of your life that no longer fits because every alternative feels reckless.

Sometimes it looks like working constantly while remaining convinced that none of it counts.

You know something needs to change but every time you consider what comes next, an invisible objection gets there first.

What you'll leave with

  • A better explanation than “I’m lazy,” “I’m broken,” or “I should have figured this out by now”

  • One of your own rules, written down in plain words, so you can see it instead of automatically obeying it

  • Where that rule came from and what it was trying to keep you safe from

  • A clear look at what following it may be costing you now

  • A way to check whether the rule still fits the life you’re living

What this is

This is a focused, self-paced recorded workshop with eight short video lessons totaling about 27 minutes, plus seven guided exercises that help you apply each part to your own life.

If you do the exercises as you go, plan on about 45–60 minutes from start to finish.

We'll work through five parts:

  • Where you feel stuck

  • What you've decided that says about you

  • The rule underneath it

  • Where that rule came from and what it protected

  • Whether it still fits and what following it is costing you now

What this isn't

  • Not therapy. I'm not a therapist and I'm not pretending to be one.

  • Not coaching. Nobody's going to ask you what your goals are.

  • Not a four week program. It's like an hour. You watch it and you're done.

  • No homework between sessions. There's a workbook if you want it, and you can skip it and use a napkin.

  • Not a plan. I don't know what you should do with your life. I barely know what I'm doing with mine.

Who this is for

You already know something needs to change. You just can't name what and you've been assuming that's a you problem.

You've done the reading. You've watched the videos, mine included. You understand your patterns better than most people ever will and you're still sitting in the exact same spot.

You're not looking for a pep talk. You're looking for somebody to tell you the truth about why this keeps happening.

Who I am

I'm Sheila. I make videos on the internet for people in midlife who did everything they were told and ended up lost anyway.

I'm not a therapist or a coach. I didn't credential this. I lived it.

I got laid off in January 2024, spent the next two and a half years trying to force my life to make sense and eventually realized I had been following the same handful of rules for years without ever stopping to check whether they still belonged in the life I had now.

I'm not on the other side of this. I still catch myself at 11pm deciding something isn't worth doing because it won't make enough money. The difference is, now I can hear the rule when it shows up instead of mistaking it for the truth.

Questions people have asked

There’s no deadline. Watch it now and come back to it whenever you need it.

How long do I have access?

No. I'm not a therapist and this isn't a substitute for one. This is an hour with somebody who's been stuck a lot and finally figured out what was actually happening.

Is this therapy?

Then you already know how I talk, which is most of what people want to know before they hand somebody money. The videos are pieces. This is the whole thing in order and it's the part I couldn't fit into a video.

What if I've already watched all your YouTube videos for free?

There will be. This is the recorded one and it's where to start. If you want in on a live session later, get on my list and you'll hear about it first.

Is there a live version?

Yes. When you buy, you get two versions of the workshop. One has captions burned into the video, one doesn't. You pick the one you want after checkout. Same content either way, same price, no extra charge.

Are there captions?

You can, but your progress is tracked separately in each one, so you'd be starting the checkmarks over.

Can I switch versions later?

Email me within 7 days and I'll refund you. You don't have to tell me why, though I won't lie, I'd love to know. You keep the workbook either way.

If you've completed or nearly completed the workshop, the refund won't be honored.

What if I hate it?
